Ingredients
- 4 ripe but firm pears
- ½ cup (75 g) blue cheese, crumbled
- 2 tbsp (30 g) walnuts, toasted and chopped
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) honey
- Fresh thyme leaves, for garnish
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Slice pears in half lengthwise. Use a spoon or melon baller to scoop out a small cavity from the center.
-
In a small bowl, mix the blue cheese and toasted walnuts.
-
Fill each pear half with the cheese mixture.
-
Place pears on the baking sheet and drizzle with honey.
-
Bake for 12–15 minutes, until pears are tender and the cheese is slightly melted.
-
Garnish with fresh thyme leaves and serve warm.
Notes
-
Choose pears that are ripe but still firm so they hold their shape when baked.
-
Swap walnuts with pecans or almonds if you prefer.
-
A drizzle of balsamic glaze or maple syrup makes a delicious twist.
-
These are best served warm right out of the oven but can be reheated gently if needed.
