Description
Caramelized Brussels sprouts roasted until golden, threaded onto skewers, and finished with a warm walnut honey glaze—an elegant and irresistible Christmas side.
Ingredients
700 g (1.5 lb) Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
3 tbsp honey
40 g walnuts, finely chopped and toasted
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
1/4 tsp chili flakes (optional)
Wooden skewers
Fresh rosemary or thyme (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Toss Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper, then arrange cut-side down on the baking sheet.
3. Roast for 25–30 minutes, flipping once, until deeply golden and tender.
4. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine honey, toasted walnuts, Dijon mustard, vinegar, and chili flakes. Warm gently for 2–3 minutes.
5. Thread roasted Brussels sprouts onto skewers, about 3–4 halves per skewer.
6. Arrange on a serving platter, drizzle with warm walnut honey glaze, and garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
Notes
Soak wooden skewers in water for 15 minutes if grilling.
Do not overcrowd the baking sheet to ensure proper caramelization.
Pecans can be used instead of walnuts for a softer nutty flavor.
Best served warm for maximum texture and flavor.
