Description
Elegant baked pears topped with warm berries, honey, toasted walnuts, and creamy blue cheese—a sweet and savory dish perfect for brunch, appetizers, or a cozy dessert.
Ingredients
3 ripe pears (Bosc or Bartlett), halved and cored
2 tbsp butter, melted
2 tbsp honey
½ cup fresh mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, or cranberries)
¼ cup chopped walnuts (lightly toasted)
¼ cup crumbled blue cheese or gorgonzola
½ tsp cinnamon
Fresh thyme leaves (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
2. Slice pears in half and remove cores with a spoon to create small hollows. Brush each half with melted butter and drizzle lightly with honey.
3. Place pears cut-side up in the baking dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake for 20–25 minutes until tender and caramelized.
4. Remove from oven and spoon berries and walnuts into the center of each pear. Crumble blue cheese on top and drizzle again with honey.
5. Return to oven for 5 minutes, just until cheese softens and melts slightly.
6. Garnish with thyme leaves if desired and serve warm.
Notes
Choose firm, ripe pears for best texture.
Toast the walnuts before adding for richer flavor.
Substitute blue cheese with goat cheese or feta for a milder taste.
Frozen berries can be used if fresh aren’t available.
Serve as an appetizer, dessert, or elegant brunch option.
